In an earlier article, we discussed that the size of sold condo units did not increase during the pandemic, contrary to assumptions that households would purchase larger units to accommodate work-from-home arrangements. In fact, the average size of resale condo units fell from 1,223 sq ft in 2020 to 1,100 sq ft in 2023. The decline in average household size in Singapore could have contributed to the shrinking size of sold condo units.
